Urban & Community Forestry

Urban & Community Forestry

This program provides grants for community organizations and local governments for urban tree planting and for the utilization of urban forest waste wood for wood products and bioenergy. Local governments can also receive grants for urban forest management programs. Urban trees remove air pollutants and GHGs from the atmosphere and also shade buildings, which reduces energy costs and decreases GHG and air pollutant emissions by limiting the need for air conditioning.
