What does it fund?
The California Climate Action Corps (CCAC) fellowship places 400 full-time service members, called fellows, with dozens of public agency, nonprofit, tribal, and educational institution host partners throughout the state to support state and local climate goals. Fellows focus their community engagement on urban greening, organic waste and edible food recovery, and wildfire resiliency.
Who is eligible for funds?
Public agencies, non-profits, tribes, and educational institutions can apply to host fellows. Individuals can apply to become fellows
How does this program provide benefits to priority populations?
Fellowships are prioritized at agencies and organizations serving disadvantaged and low-income communities. Fellows mobilize communities through climate volunteer engagement, direct climate action, and climate education. Fellows participate in training and workforce development to prepare for future climate or sustainability careers.
How do I access funds?
Applications to host fellows or to become a fellow are reviewed on an annual basis.
