What does it fund?

The Salton Sea Management Program aims to improve air quality and environmental conditions at the Salton Sea by constructing habitat and dust suppression projects.

The projects include: Land Enhancement of Desert Vegetation Communities, Wetlands and Watershed Restoration, Dust Suppression, Climate Adaptation and Resiliency, Fish & Wildlife Aquatic Habit Pond Creation, Borehole Sonic Drilling, Well Installation, Feasibility Study, and Air Quality Monitoring.

Who is eligible for funds?

Department of Water Resources, directly and through contracts with external consultant, local, tribal, state or federal entity, and service vendors

How does this program provide benefits to priority populations?

In consultation with DWR, CARB has established minimum investment targets to priority population for the Salton Sea Management Program. The goal is to allocate 100% of investments to projects located in priority populations, with 40% designated for low-income communities and 60% for disadvantaged communities.

How do I access funds?

The funding has been fully allocated and no additional funds are available at this time.
