Ocean Protection Council (OPC)


What does it fund?

This program funds project types that advance ocean and coastal resilience and adaptation, consistent with the 2020-2025 OPC Strategic Plan, and subsequent Strategic Plan. Projects may advance one or multiple strategic goals of the OPC Strategic Plan: safeguarding against climate change; advancing equity; enhancing biodiversity; and a sustainable blue economy.

How does this program provide benefits to priority populations?

This program will support ocean and coastal resilience, including tribal stewardship and community engagement to inform project design and outcomes, to support and benefit priority populations, and to create jobs through workforce development and capacity building.

Funding timeline

Letters of intent (LOI) are due Friday, March 6, 2026 by5:00 p.m. LOI applicants invited to submit a full proposal will be notified by April 13. Full proposals are due Friday, June 12, 2026 by5:00 p.m. (only applicants who have submitted an LOI may submit a full proposal). See the solicitation for the full timeline.
